That’s telling ‘em...
You could have heard a pin drop when in England ,at a fairly large conference, when Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.’ You could have heard a pin drop.
Vengence is not ours...
It’s awfully difficult to “turn the other cheek,” when someone tries to harm us, or when we feel that we have been wronged by someone. It takes a stronger person to walk away instead of trying to “get back at that person who has hurt us. It’s then that the words come back to remind me that “vengence is the Lord’s -- not mine.”
They all call after 5...
This is gripe week! I try to keep my griping at a minimum...keep a cool head, so to speak. But once in a while it does an old gal good to spout off about some of her favorite gripes.
I have enough sense to know that music plays a large part in setting the mood in a movie, dramatic scenes, and, for instance, scary situations call for creepy mood music.
