The group began by reciting the Collect and Mission Statement: “The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.”

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church recently completed their annual chicken salad sale and St. Paul’s would like to express a huge thank you to their friends and family for supporting them in this event.
Moreover, they want their community to know that this is their only fundraiser and that ALL of the proceeds go back into our community.
They are proud to partner with all of you to be the heart, the hands, and the feet of Christ in our community.

Abbeville High Educator PreEducation Students Earn Micro-Credential in Classroom Culture

ALL ELEVEN Abbeville High School students in the PreEducation Pathway recently earned their micro-credential in Classroom Culture through the Educators Rising program! Micro-credentials are performance-based assessments in which rising educators can showcase their growing skills. The Micro-credential in Classroom Culture is the first in a series of “Beginning to Teach” credentials offered through the Educators Rising curriculum for students who are considering careers in education. Each micro-credential submission requires an estimated 5-15 hours of work.

Swamp Pop Legend Tommy McLain returns to Richard Sale Barn with CC Adcock, Dave Ranson

Straight off his national tour, the legendary Swamp Pop legend, Tommy McLain, along with musicians CC Adcock and Dave Ranson, returns to the Richard Sale Barn on Saturday, May 6.
The Richard Sale Barn is located at 1307 S. Henry St, in Abbeville, La. Doors open at 6 pm and the music beginning at 7 pm.
Attendees will be treated to McLain singing new material off his newly released I Ran Down Every Dream as well as fan favorites!

Brittney Mailhes and Michael Patout celebrated their Nuptial Mass on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. The Nuptial Mass was officiated by Father Louis Richard.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Mailhes of Maurice. Mrs. Mailhes is the former Lori Montet. She’s the granddaughter of Curtis and Loretta Montet of Maurice and Raywood and Judy Mailhes of Abbeville.
