D.A.R.E graduation at Seventh Ward Elementary

Seventh Ward Elementary fifth graders completed their D.A.R.E. graduation on Thursday. D.A.R.E. is a program that teaches students to respect others and lead lives free from substance abuse, violence, and other dangerous behaviors. Special thanks goes to D.A.R.E. Officer, Deputy Marcus Hebert for teaching our students for the second half of this 20-21 school year. Also, we would like to thank Detective James Gleason and his canine partner ‘Sarr’, PIO Eddie Langlinais, and Lieutenant Kevin Hebert for the demonstration of working dogs for law enforcement.

A son, Bentley Cruz Mouton, was born on March 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s and Children’s Hospital to Aijia Mouton of Youngsville.

Noah Alexander Laperouse
A son, Noah Alexander Laperouse, was born on March 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s and Children’s Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Laperouse of Maurice. The mother is the former Tayler Montet.

Miss Cailin Trahan to become Mrs. Grayson Dubois

Mr. and Mrs. Troy Trahan of Abbeville, LA are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Cailin Trahan of Abbeville to Mr. Grayson Dubois of Kaplan, LA.
Cailin is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Parlier of Abbeville, LA and Mrs. Terry Trahan of New Iberia, LA.
The bride-to-be is a 2016 graduate of Vermilion Cathholic High School and a 2020 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she earned her Early Childhood Education degree. She is currently employed at Delcambre Elementary School in Delcambre, LA.

Love to Soldiers from Home

Dozier Elementary students recently sent mail to local soldiers who are deployed. Two local Erath men Brandon Perrin and Trebor LeGros, both stationed in Iraq, excitedly posted news and photos of their “snail mail” from the DES students and teachers on their Facebook pages.  Brandon Perrin is serving as a Sergeant with a squad of eight men. LeGros is serving as a medic in Perrin’s squad. The two Erath men are serving together in a front-line infantry unit.

Miss Katie Elizabeth Langlinais becomes Mrs. Brent John Gauthier, Jr.

On Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 6:30 in the evening, Katie Elizabeth Langlinais and Brent “B.J.” John Gauthier, Jr. were united in holy matrimony. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, Louisiana. Pastors, Father Emmanuel “Manny” Fernandez and Father Andre Metrejean, officiated the sacramental ceremony.
