School bus involved in Tuesday morning crash in Abbeville

More than two dozen students were reportedly on a school bus involved in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Abbeville.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Franks Alley and South Young Street shortly before 7 a.m.
Abbeville Police cited the driver of the car involved in the crash for failure to yield at the stop sign.
According to reports, the car hit the right side of the school bus, which headed west on Franks Alley. One person at the scene said the car remained stuck under the bus, with 30 students said to be on board. The bus then hit two houses. A vehicle and a rental property at the second house were damaged.
Students and the bus driver as well as the driver of the car were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. No injuries to anyone in either of the homes were reported.
