I am happy to announce that I’ve qualified, and I am seeking another term as Councilwoman for District D. Though challenging at times I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment of public service. I can without hesitation say that I've represented each of you with honor, decency, and integrity. I've fought for the things that I knew my District deserved. In the midst of difficulty and being misunderstood or judged harshly sometimes, I’ve managed to remain humble and do my job.

Norris Green Jr. announces bid for District D Council seat in Abbeville

Norris J. Green Jr., councilman for District D, is seeking your vote and support on March 26, 2022. I am a dedicated father, and I feel that our children are our greatest assets. District D has become riddled with murders of our young people. Crime is getting so bad that our elderly is afraid to come out of their homes. As your councilman, I will make sure the police department is properly funded to help our district and city fight crime and violence. I want our policeman trained to not only fight crime but be proactive in dealing with people every day with respect.

Wayne Landry announces candidacy for District D seat on Abbeville City Council

Wayne Landry Sr., councilman for District D, is seeking your vote on March 26, 2022.
He will be the leader and servant to his constituents of the city of Abbeville. Landry’s community involvement over the years will give him the knowledge and experience to properly serve the people of District D. More must be done to end the crime, violence and drugs that are killing our people, young and old.

Vermilion Parish Pre-K, child care information offered

There will be an informational fair offering information about Headstart, Early Headstart, Childcare, and PreK programs later this month, so parents can get ready for registration, which happens in March.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at AA Comeaux Park on February 12.
There will be parent meetings as well, offering assistance to parents who need help filling out the forms.
Those meetings are from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the following locations on the following dates:
• Leblanc Elementary Cafeteria on February 15, 2022
