On March 26, 2022, we will be voting for a new councilperson to represent our interest in District A. I would be honored to represent the people of our district, and I am asking that you consider me for this position. Let me be your voice. I will address each issue with compassion and leadership. Together we can resolve the problems of our district and continue making District A and Abbeville a better place for all.
I am a Christian, a wife, a mother, a stepmother, a grandmother and was privileged to be a foster mom.

Don Chauvin passes away after helping induct longtime friend into Abbeville High Hall of Fame

On Thursday, one of the founding fathers of the Abbeville High Hall of Fame gave his final talk about his good friend who was being inducted in the Hall of Fame Class of 2021. He sat back down, and then closed his eyes.
Don Chauvin died around two hours later after speaking highly about his long-time friend, Barbara LeMaire, who was being inducted into the Abbeville High Hall of Fame as an honorary member.
Acadiana Ambulance and the Abbeville Fire Department worked on Chauvin for about 30 minutes, and when they left Magdalen Place, Chauvin still had a pulse.

Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) and Hancock Whitney Bank are pleased to announce the 2021 Leaders in Philanthropy Award honorees for Vermilion Parish, John T. and Sandra B. Landry.
John T. and Sandra B. Landry are lifelong residents of Vermilion parish. John T. was a successful auto dealer and Sandra taught 1st grade for 32 years in the Vermilion Parish Public School System.
