Louisiana Department of Health COVID-19 Updates for March 31
BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.
As of noon on March 31, the Department reported 1,212 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 5,237 positive cases. This is a 30% increase since yesterday.
Hospitalization
A total of 1,355 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized; of those, 438 patients require ventilation.
One in Vermilion Parish among Louisiana’s 151 COVID-19 deaths
BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.
On Saturday, the state reported that one of the two confirmed cases in Vermilion Parish resulted in the parish’s first COVID-19 death.
As of noon on March 29, the Department reported 225 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 3,540 positive cases.
Coronavirus cases continue to grow
The news dealing with COVID-19 continues to get worse before it gets better.
On Friday, St. Martin Parish officials announced that three people have died from COVID-19. The state Department of Health confirmed one death in Acadia Parish.
St. Martin Parish President Chester Cedars confirmed the three deadly cases Friday morning.
