The Vermilion Parish School Board and Superintendent Tommy Byler might have come up with a strategy to improve school facilities without needing to ask the community for a tax increase.
Byler shared with the board details about around $25 million worth of repairs and enhancements for buildings and sports facilities across the parish.
“We are trying to find a creative way to do upgrades without going to the public,” Byler said. 

The 51st Annual Vermilion Parish 4-H Junior Livestock Show was held January 10-11th at the Cecil McCrory Exhibit Building in Abbeville. In all, 132 4-H members exhibited 289 head of livestock (beef, sheep, goats, dairy, swine) and 33 poultry exhibitors showed 108 exhibition birds at this show.
The sale of market animals totaled $162,116.75.
