ABBEVILLE – Barbara Ann Menard Lee, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 27, 2026 at Abbeville General Hospital surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Barbara Ann Menard Lee, 82, officiated by her grandson Reverend Bret J. Lee, was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday June 30, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 18534 LA 689 Erath, LA 70533. She was laid to rest beside her husband at Graceland Cemetery, 1500 Veteran’s Memorial Drive Abbeville, LA 70510. Honored to serve as pallbearers were Ronnie Denais, Clay Menard, Aaron Lee, Jeb Barras, John Luke Barras, and Tyler Guidry.
A visitation took place at St. John Catholic Church on Tuesday June 30, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary being prayed at 10 a.m.
Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who showed unwavering support to all her family members. No matter what the accomplishment to be celebrated or event that included her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she would gladly attend and show how proud she was. Her loving care for all of them will never be forgotten, and her whole family was blessed to have her at their side for so many years. Her faith, pride in her family, and sense of humor will live on in all those who mourn her loss.
Barbara is survived by her son, Al J. Lee and his wife Leisa; grandchildren, Anna Barras and her husband Jeb; Aaron Lee and his wife Jamie; and Reverend Bret J. Lee. Her great- grandchildren, John Luke Barras, Reagan Barras, Ryder Barras, A.J. Lee and Noah Lee. Also surviving are Barbara’s siblings, Patrick Menard and his wife Nola, and Margaret M. Denais.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ronnie J. Lee and her parents, Levis Menard and Sarah Cade Menard.
Barbara’s family would like to thank her caretakers, Wendy Hargrave, Karan Abshire, and Jodie Demarcy.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Vermilion Parish 4-H Foundation’s Livestock Fund 1105 W. Port St. Abbeville, LA 70510.
