Barret James Davidson

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Barret James Davidson, 34, who passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2022 at his residence.
Rev Fr. Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Leroy, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.
Barret, a resident of Maurice, was the son of John Davidson and the former Gina Handschin.
Raised in Vermilion Parish, Barret attended K-8 at Mt. Carmel Elementary of Abbeville and North Vermilion High School, class of 2005. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, and was an extreme car enthusiast. Barret was considered a true friend that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, John and Gina Davidson; paternal grandmother, Loretta B. Davidson; paternal aunt, Donella Davidson Miller (Gary); maternal grandparents, Daniel and LaJuana Handschin; maternal uncles, Daniel Handschin (Sandra) and Jason Handschin (Jenny); and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Raymond L. Davidson; and paternal uncle, Patrick R. Davidson.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Jason Handschin, Seth Chapman, Ruston Broussard, Dave Viator, Kenley Broussard, and Brilan Marceaux.
