Jimmie “Dean” Hebert Moore

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville honoring the life of Jimmie “Dean” Hebert Moore.
Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville.
Jimmie “Dean” Hebert Moore, age 78, who passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her husband and children on Friday, April 14, 2023, in Abbeville.
Jimmie “Dean” Hebert Moore was born on February 12, 1945, in Abbeville where she remained a lifelong resident. She was a loving wife, momma, and Mimi. Dean had a smile that could light up any room and a giggle that was contagious. Her hugs could heal a broken heart in no time. Dean was strong in her Catholic faith and love for the Lord. She devoted her life to her husband, Sidney and their family. Dean and Sidney rarely ever spent a night apart. She enjoyed gardening and taking trips when they were able to. Dean worked at Abbeville Building and Loan for 40 years and was loved by her co-workers and customers who got to know her so well through the years.
Dean is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Sidney J. Moore; her son, Gregory J. Moore (Jamie) of Youngsville; her daughters, Cindy Moore of Abbeville and Ashley M. Delcambre (Kebby) of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Macelia M. Detraz (Logan), Simone Moore, Hannah Miller, and Eva Delcambre; her great-granddaughters, Aubrey, Addalyn, and Anne-Marie; her brother, Barry Hebert (Mary Beth) of Abbeville; as well as her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Moore of Abbeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Royce Reginald “Reggie” Hebert and Dorothy Mae “Sing” White Hebert; as well as her sisters, Regina “Gina” Hebert Lacour and Trudy Hebert Simon.
The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Crystal Suire LaBruyere and Miss Jeannie Vaughn for the compassionate and loving care provided to Mrs. Dean during her time of need. Without them, she would not have been able to stay in the comfort of her home with her husband. They would also like to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph Hospice of Lafayette, who also helped to keep her at home as she wished.
