Nolan Brailey

ABBEVILLE — A home-going celebration of life for Mr. Nolan Ray “Shorty” Brailey, Sr., 78 will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Mount Triumph Baptist Church (310 S. Lamar Street) with Pastor Willie Williams, officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Saint Paul Cemetery (515 Jacqulyn Street) in Abbeville, LA.
Visitation hours will be observed at Mount Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, September 2, 2023, beginning at 8:00 A.M. until the time of the service. 
"Shorty" as he was affectionately known, was a resident of Kaplan, LA, and native of Abbeville, LA. He transitioned at 8:33 A.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at his residence following a brief illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of fifty-four years: Sandra Rice Brailey of Kaplan, LA; one son: Nolan Ray Brailey, Jr. of Kaplan, LA; one daughter: Shayla Chantel Brailey-Bartlette (Matthew) of Sumter, SC; five brothers": Roland Brailey, Sr., Argis Brailey, Sr. (Leona), Darson Lee Brailey and Ryneal Brailey, Sr. all of Abbeville, LA, and Dalton Brailey, Sr. of Breaux Bridge, LA; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence Brailey and Mable Plowden Brailey; two brothers: Alton Brailey, Sr., and Floyd Brailey; four sisters: Lola Mae Taylor, Orgene Polk, Martha Rideaux, and Patricia Lee Brailey.
Active pallbearers are Nolan Ray Brailey, Jr., Trevor Eaton, Joseph Gilbert, Anthony Rice, Carlos Willis, and Layla Renee Brailey.
Honorary pallbearers are Roland Brailey, Sr., Dalton Brailey, Sr., Argis Brailey, Sr., Darson Lee Brailey, Ryneal Brailey, Sr., and Hayward Rice, Jr.
