Norman Ray Hoffpauir

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA for Norman Ray Hoffpauir, 91, who died Monday, May 27, 2024.
Interment will be in the Indian Bayou Cemetery in Rayne, LA.
Pastor Chris Blanchard of Indian Bayou Church will conduct the funeral services.
Norman was a teacher, guidance counselor and coach. He graduated from Indian Bayou High School in 1951 and attained a Bachelor of Art degree from SLI, a Masters from McNeese and an Education Specialist degree from USL in 1974. He taught at Sulphur Jr. High in February-June 1957, Crowley High School in 1957-1964, Crowley Jr. High in 1964-1967, Kaplan High School in 1967-1986, and retired in 1986. He was a member of the Vermilion Parish Retired Teachers Association and LA Teachers Retired Association.
Norman married Della Landry on December 22, 2962. They had three children, Julie, Joel and Wynn. They were married for 62 years.
He had an unending passion for teaching others and educated many students across Vermilion Parish. Norman had a great love and passion for the game of golf and made his first trip to Augusta in 1999. Norman and his wife, Della, also hold many trophies for their love of bowling. He was an expert family historian and took much pride in researching and recording his family's genealogy. He loved being on his tractor working in the country and showing off his beautiful garden of roses and variety of other flowers. Above all, he loved his family and was so proud of his five grandsons.
Survivors include his wife, Della Landry Hoffpauir, daughter, Julie Hoffpauir, son, Wynn Hoffpauir and wife Melissa Hoffpauir, sister, Linda Trahan and daughter Carmen Touchet, five grandchildren, Dylon Hoffpauir, Drake Hoffpauir and spouse Malani, Drew Hoffpauir, Dax Hoffpauir, Joshua Hoffpauir, 1 great grandchild, daughter-in-law, Rachel Hoffpauir.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joel Hoffpauir, father, James Ivy Hoffpauir, mother, Margaret Harrington Hoffpauir, brother, James Hoffpauir and spouse Irene Hoffpauir, nephew, Mark Hoffpauir.
Pallbearers will be Dylon Hoffpauir, Drew Hoffpauir, Dax Hoffpauir, Joshua Hoffpauir, Wynn Hoffpauir, Frank Touchet.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
