The Abbeville Wildcats have won two straight games after scoring a combined 46 runs.
Last week, the Wildcats (2-3) beat Opelousas 26-25 and Glenco Charter, 20-6.
Abbeville’s Greg Meaux, Nathan Daniels, and Roland Levine III combined for five of the team’s 10 hits in the victory against Glenco. They scored five runs and drove in six.
Abbeville jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Oatlon Smith doubled, scoring two runs; Gage LaFleur doubled, scoring one run; an error scored two runs; Levine III singled, scoring one run; Deylon Joseph tripled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Meaux earned the win for the Wildcats. The starter allowed zero hits and six runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking four.

The North Vermilion Patriots ended their two-game skid Saturday with a 1-0 victory over the University Lab Cubs.
It was the Patriots’ third consecutive game in which they plated one run, and they found themselves in another pitcher’s duel. Unlike the previous two games, NV came out on top this time.
Kevin Marix earned the win, pitching five and one-third innings of shutout baseball. He allowed zero runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
Brock Broussard pitched the final one and two-thirds innings to pick up the save. He allowed zero runs on one hit and zero walks while striking out one.
Broussard also drove in the winning run in his lone plate appearance. With two out in the bottom of the sixth and runners at first and second, Broussard sent the first pitch he saw to right field, driving in Brody Lambeck to make it 1-0.
Alex Landry had the only other Patriots’ hit in the ball game. Lambeck walked twice during the game, while Landry and James Higginbotham also walked to reach base.

In the second game on Saturday, University Lab won the rubber match of the three-game series 12-1.
It was also the fourth consecutive game in which the Patriots scored exactly one run.
The Cubs scored four in the first, three in the second, and two in the third to take a commanding 9-1 lead. They added three more in the fifth to provide the final margin.
Alex Landry drove in the Patriots’ run in the bottom of the first inning when he drove a single to centerfield that scored Brody Lambeck.
Jansen Deangelo and Collin Broussard also had hits for NV.
Drew Durke took the loss on the mound, pitching one and one-third innings. He allowed seven runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out one.

The Erath Bobcats dropped a 6-2 decision to the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers on Saturday at Northwood High School.
Calvary Baptist scored three in the third and three in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. Erath plated two runs in the fifth to cut the lead but could not get any closer.
Carter Champagne took the loss on the bump for the Bobcats. He gave up six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings.
Seth Leger had Erath’s lone RBI and scored Erath’s other run as he went two-for-four on the day. Braxton Richard also had a multi-hit game. He went three-for-four with a double and a run scored.

The Erath Bobcats dropped their second game on Saturday with an 8-6 loss to the Northwood Falcons.
The Bobcats fell behind 8-1 after six innings. They came alive in the seventh, plating five runs to make it a ball game.
Landen Derouen took the loss on the mound. In four innings, he allowed five runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out three.
Derouen also led Erath at the plate, going two-for-four with two RBI and a walk. Dominic Frederick also had two hits and an RBI, while Braxton Richard had one hit and one RBI, scoring twice.

Sabe David threw a complete game to lead the Kaplan Pirates to a 3-2 victory over the Iota Bulldogs on Saturday.
David allowed only one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine in seven innings of work to win the pitcher’s duel.
Iota scored one in the second and one in the fourth to lead 2-0 going into the sixth inning. Kaplan scored three times in the sixth to claim the win.
Eli Simon started the rally with a one-out walk. Aiden Gaspard then singled to move Simon to second. Remy Broussard then hit a hard ground ball that was misplayed, allowing Simon to score from second to make it 2-1.
Karter Meaux drew a walk to load the bases before Carter Petry also walked to drive in a run and tie the score at two. David then singled to help himself and scored Broussard to provide the final margin.
Gaspard and David had the only two hits in the game for the Pirates. Petry and David each had an RBI.

In her first game since basketball season ended, Emerson Kelly drove in three runs on two hits to lead the North Vermilion Lady Patriots to a 7-3 victory over the Archbishop Hannan Lady Hawks.
Kelly singled in the top of the third to score Ellery Dupuy and knot the score at one. She struck again in the fourth when she sent a 1-1 pitch on a line to right that scored Nylah Harrison and Kyla Landry to make it 6-1 Lady Pats.
Kallie Gibson earned the win in the circle for NV. She allowed two earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out two over seven innings.
Zoe Harrington had two hits, an RBI, and also scored twice. Gibson also had two hits while Madalyn Landry had one hit and one RBI. Kyla Landry and Dupuy each had one hit.

Acadiana........... 6
The North Vermilion Lady Patriots rallied from a 5-0 hole to defeat the Acadiana Lady Rams 7-6 in eight innings on Saturday to pick up their second win of the day.
The Lady Rams scored one in the first, two in the second, and two in the third to lead 5-0 after three.
NV got two back in the fourth with Taylor Marceaux singled to right with runners on the corners. Emerson Kelly scored on the hit, while an error allowed Kallie Gibson to score all the way from first.
The Lady Rams made it 6-2 in the top half of the sixth before Zoe Harrington blasted a two-run homer over the centerfield wall to make it 6-4. Following a walk, Gibson blasted another two-run shot over the centerfield wall to tie the score at six.
Gibson pitched the final two innings to earn the win. She allowed no runs on, no hits, and no walks while striking out three. Madalynn Landry started in the circle for NV. She allowed four earned runs on seven hits and one walk in three innings.
Gibson led the Lady Pats at the dish with two hits and two RBI. Marceaux added two hits and an RBI, while Harrington had one hit and two RBI. Kyla Landry, Amelia Dupre, and Briley Steven each had a hit.

The Erath Lady Bobcats fell to the Cedar Creek Lady Cougars 16-6 on Saturday in Broussard.
Erath got on the board in the top of the first when Lily Smith stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and tripled to right to put the Lady Bobcats ahead 3-0.
Cedar Creek answered with five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good. They added one in the third, six in the fourth, and fourth in the fifth to end the game.
Ali Bouillion, Allie Floris, and Mady Vallot each had an RBI for Erath, while Shelbi Grace Bernard, Floris, Kayleigh Perro, and Mollie-Grace LeBlanc joined Smith with one hit each.

The Erath Lady Bobcats fell to the 5A Barbe Lady Bucs 17-0 in the second game in Broussard on Saturday.
Barbe scored three in the third, 11 in the fourth, and three in the fifth to end the game.
Elise Mencacci had the lone hit for the Lady Bobcats. Lily Smith took the loss in the circle.

Lexi Greene struck out 12 to lead the Kaplan Lady Pirates to a 4-1 victory over the John Curtis Lady Patriots on Friday.
The sophomore southpaw pitched a complete game, allowing zero earned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out 12.
Kaplan scored one in the first and three in the seventh. Baleigh Landry, Abbigale Ford, and Drew Kass each drove in one run. Landry had three hits, while Greene and Kass each had one.

On Saturday, the Kaplan Lady Pirates moved to 5-0 on the young season with a 3-1 victory over the Lutcher Lady Bulldogs.
Lexi Greene threw a complete game to earn Kaplan a win in the circle. The sophomore southpaw allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out 11.
Kaplan took the lead for good with one run in the third. They added one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Addyson Hebert hit a solo home run, while Abbigale Ford and Cheyanne Breaux had RBI singles.
Hebert led Kaplan with two hits. Greene, Ford, and Breaux each had one hit.
