Vermilion Catholic Head All-Parish Team

The Vermilion Catholic Eagles had a season for the ages in 2022, winning their first 13 games of the season and finishing up as the Division IV Select state runner-up, dominating opponents on both defense and offense for the entire season.
The Eagles finished 13-1 and reached the state championship game at the Ochsner LHSAA Prep Classic in the Superdome in New Orleans in December, leading to VC earning nine first-team spots on the All-Vermilion Parish Team as selected by The Abbeville Meridional, along with all three individual honors on the squad.

Who would have thought a 1977 Meaux High School graduate is on track to become America’s winningest high school basketball coach?
St. Thomas More basketball coach Danny Broussard continues to climb the National Federation High School all-time list of high school winningest basketball coaches in America.
As 2022 came to a close, Broussard won his 1,097 high school basketball game. That put him at No. 7, surpassing Coach Bill Krueger, who coached in Texas. Krueger had 1,096 wins.

NEW ORLEANS — Vermilion Catholic High School head football coach Broc Prejean couldn’t have been more proud of his team’s effort following the LHSAA’s Division IV Select state championship football game Thursday night in the Caesars Superdome.

VC heading back to the Superdome!

The Vermilion Catholic Eagles (13-0) are returning to the Louisiana Superdome after a nine-year absence.
The Eagles crushed St. Martin’s Saints 41-7 Friday in the Division IV Select semifinals.
VC will play No. 3 Ouachita Christian on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Eagles won state titles in 2003 and 2013. Nine years later, they are back in the Dome.
VC head coach Broc Prejean was a 2003 state championship team member. Now, he is going back as the head coach of the Eagles.

VC going back to the semifinals

BATON ROUGE — The Vermilion Catholic Eagles advanced to the semifinals for the second time in three years by doing what they do best.
The Eagles, 12-0, beat Southern Lab, 17-7, in Friday’s quarterfinal round of the Division IV Select Playoffs.
VC will play St. Martin’s Episcopal at home in the semifinal round.
The winner of that game advances to the Division IV State Finals, to be played in the Superdome in New Orleans on Thursday, Dec. 8.
St. Martin’s beat St. Mary’s 29-24.
