Ben Rivera Announces candidacy for State Representative District 47

Ben Rivera wants to be the next State Representative for District 47. He knows with the people of the district behind him, he can qualify to get on the ballot in March and start making our vision for a prosperous home a reality.
“This is for our home and way of life,” says Rivera. “I live here, I grew up here. We are all working for a better tomorrow constantly. Being a Representative for 47 means we will all have a voice.”

Driver, Child Passenger Killed Single Vehicle Crash

ST. LANDRY PARISH – Shortly before 8:00 am on November 16, 2018, Troop I was notified of a fatal crash on LA Hwy 95 near Linzay Rd. in St. Landry Parish. The crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Linsey Carriere and a passenger, 6-year-old Chloe Carriere, both of Eunice.

Kaplan city judge Stanton Hardee suspended from practice, judge seat for six months; issues apology to voters

The Louisiana State Supreme Court’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel suspended Kaplan City Judge Stanton Hardee III from practicing law for a year and a day after he pleaded no contest to multiple misdemeanors arising from alcohol-related, offensive conduct, in violation of Rules 8.4(a) and 8.4(b) of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Will there be a Vermilion Parish School Board meeting?

There is a school board meeting tonight and everyone wants to know, “What school board members are going to show up to attend the meeting?”
The school board meeting gets underway at 6 p..m. in the Charles Campbell Annex Building.
The public is invited.
At a committee meeting on Monday, four school board members left the meeting room before any meeting took place.
School board members Laura LeBeouf, Sara Duplechain, Kibbie Pillette and David Dupuis left the annex building after seeing superintendent Jerome Puyau at the meeting.
