LDWF receives 12 juvenile whooping cranes at Rockefeller

Louisiana’s wild whooping crane population continues to grow as the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and partners work to reestablish a flourishing population to the Bayou State.
Twelve juvenile whooping cranes were received Monday (Nov. 19) at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge near Grand Chenier. It will bring the Louisiana wild population to 75 once the new arrivals are released.

Driver, Child Passenger Killed Single Vehicle Crash

ST. LANDRY PARISH – Shortly before 8:00 am on November 16, 2018, Troop I was notified of a fatal crash on LA Hwy 95 near Linzay Rd. in St. Landry Parish. The crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Linsey Carriere and a passenger, 6-year-old Chloe Carriere, both of Eunice.

Kaplan city judge Stanton Hardee suspended from practice, judge seat for six months; issues apology to voters

The Louisiana State Supreme Court’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel suspended Kaplan City Judge Stanton Hardee III from practicing law for a year and a day after he pleaded no contest to multiple misdemeanors arising from alcohol-related, offensive conduct, in violation of Rules 8.4(a) and 8.4(b) of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
