Oregon native explains how she arrived in Vermilion Parish

Kristin Abah Moore has a unique story of how she ended up at LeBlanc Elementary as the assistant principal for the last five years. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She explains how she found her way to Abbeville.
She is a 2004 graduate of Grambling State University in Elementary Education; 2010 Master’s Degree from ULL in Educational Leadership More recently in 2017, she completed coursework in the National Institute for School Leaders (NISL)

Addisyn Dardtez. The parade is scheduled for 3 p.m. today. Court members will be presented at VC
Stadium at 6:30 this evening. The Eagles take on Highland Baptist at 7 p.m.

Vermilion Parish School district watches 16 Section oil, gas revenue decline

The Vermilion Parish School Board could collect less than $1 million from 16 Section Land, which could be a first.
The school district owns tracks of land in the parish known as 16 Section Land. The tracks are spread throughout the parish from White Lake area, to along the coastline to the North Vermilion area.
The good thing about the land is that when oil and gas companies drill and hit a well, the school district collects money from the oil and gas revenues.
