Qualifying for Oct. 14 elections ends with two local races, one unopposed
Qualifying for the Oct. 14 election wrapped up Friday afternoon, leaving two special elections in the parish with races, while another had one candidate go unopposed.
Sherry Howell went unopposed in the opening for Maurice Board of Alderman.
Sherry Howell has served on the board on an interim basis since February. She stepped into the role after her husband, former Alderman Lynn Howell, passed away in January. She will serve the remaining year of Lynn Howell’s term. Maurice will hold regular elections in the fall of 2018.
