Visitation began at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath and continued until the time of service. A recitation of the rosary began at 12 p.m.
Mr. Michael James Broussard left this world peacefully at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Michael was a kind, funny, and talented soul whose warmth touched all who knew him. A lover of all kinds of music, he found joy in melodies that spoke to the heart and soul. His creativity extended far beyond music. He had a gifted hand for crocheting and sewing, and was a phenomenal cook known for the care and love he poured into every dish he made. Michael was never happier than when he was preparing a meal for his family, always showing up with a smile and a serving spoon in hand. Mother's Day held a special place in his heart, as he delighted in honoring the women of his family with the meals, he so lovingly prepared. Michael's love knew no bounds. He had a deep affection for animals, especially his beloved cats, who brought him endless comfort and companionship. Even so, it was his family who held the most sacred space in his heart, most especially his cherished Godchild, Stacey.
Mr. Michael James Broussard is survived by his mother, Rose Mallet Broussard of Abbeville; one brother, Alan Broussard and his wife Suzanne of Abbeville; two sisters, Brenda Alleman and Susan Broussard both of Abbeville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Paul Broussard, his paternal grandparents, Enis Broussard and Evela Broussard; his maternal grandparents, Pierre Elito Mallet and Martine Mallet; and his brother-in-law, Bradley Alleman.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Maison du Monde Nursing Home and Traditions Hospice. Their attentive and loving care brought peace to Michael’s final days. Each member of the team, from the office staff to the devoted nurses, treated Michael as one of their own, and for that, the family is forever grateful.
