Margaret Aline Stroud

April 14, 1942 ~ November 23, 2017

ABBEVILLE — Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Margaret Aline Stroud, 75, who died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Maison De Lafayette.
Deacon Byron Soley will officiate the services. Burial will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery.
Margaret and her husband Dwight were the proud owners of Stroud’s Shady Oaks Restaurant located in Abbeville and Lafayette. They served many in the community with several award winning meals.
Margaret is survived by her godchildren, Mary Margaret Bellinger, Bryan Baudoin and Christopher Broussard; caregiver, Wendy Baudoin; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight LaRoe Stroud; parents, Otis Bertrand and the former Agnes Theriot; and son, Martin 'Marty" Morrell Stroud.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM.

Randall Segura

April 3, 1941 - November 18, 2017

A Celebration of the Life of Randall Segura, age 76, of Hutto, formerly of Brownwood, will held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Crouch Ranch 7500 FM 1467, in Blanket.
Mr. Segura passed away Nov. 18, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, served in the U.S. Army 1966-1968 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #279 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, Claretta Segura of Hutto; daughter, Sheree Saurenmann and husband Jeffrey of Round Rock, grandson, Jaxson Saurenmann of Round Rock; brother, Robert Segura and wife Lona of Abbeville, Louisiana; sister, Mary Dronett and husband Rudy of Erath, Louisiana; and by numerous nieces.
He was preceded in death by parents, Leby and Adea Segura of Abbeville, Louisiana; brother Lodger Segura of Franklin, Louisiana; and by a sister-in-law, Matharine Segura of Franklin, Louisiana.

Mrs. Troy Simar, Jr.

Leah Trahan - Troy Simar, Jr. exchange wedding vows

Leah Marie Trahan and Troy Simar Jr. exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, November 18, 2017 during a sunset ceremony at Rip Van Winkle Gardens on Jefferson Island, New Iberia. Judge Durwood Conque officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Linda and Calvin (Woody) Woodruff Jr. of Abbeville and the late Rene Dale Trahan of Kaplan.
Her grandparents are the late Galvez and Wilmae Langlinais Dartez and Sava and Mathilde Adams Trahan, all of Kaplan.
Parents of the groom are Donna and Troy Simar Sr. of St. Martinville and the late Bonnie Olivier of Henderson.
His grandparents are Wayne Simar and Myrtle Delahoussaye Simar and the late Clarence Olivier and Anne Mae Courville of Henderson.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Aaron Lane.
The mother of the bride was escorted by Robert Aymond her son-in-law. She wore an elegant floor length gown of wine chiffon with lace bodice, embellished with beading.
The stepmother of the groom was escorted by her husband, Troy Simar Sr. She wore a cream colored palazzo pants with a lovely v-neck top accented by cream colored sequins.
Escorted by her stepfather, Calvin (Woody) Woodruff Jr., the bride wore a designer gown by Zak Posen in ivory. The gown was a fit and flair style overlaid with vintage lace with an amplified scalloped lace hemline. It also featured a jeweled band at the waist and a chapel train.
For her headpiece, the bride wore a flower crown of greenery including eucalyptus, wax myrtle, burgundy accents, off white roses, and feathers. Her bouquet was a free form arrangement of beautiful earth toned flowers and greenery and pheasant feathers with accents of burgundy and off white. In her bouquet, the bride carried a locket with a picture of her father, which was a gift from her godmother.
Also entwined in her bouquet was a pearl rosary, which was a gift from her mother.
Attending as matron of honor was Tonya Trahan Aymond, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lesley Renee’ Trahan, sister of the bride; Linzy McWorter, Kim Wooten, Ashley Bergeron. The junior bridesmaid was Gabriela Flores, godchild of the groom. They wore floor length gowns in styles of their own choice in colors of biscotti and stone.
The bridesmaids bouquets were also free form bouquets in earth tones and colors of dark green, burgundy and rust.
Best man was Adrian Theriot, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jeremy Simar, Joey Bienvenue, Joe Flores, Olivier Hebert. The junior groomsman was William Simon, godchild of the bride. All members of the wedding party wore western boots.
Flower girl was Annie Simar, cousin of the groom. She was adorable in a lace dress similar to the bride’s and wore a flower crown in her hair. She carried a miniature bird nest with eggs in it. Connor Theriot, godchild of the groom served as ring bearer. He carried a whimsically natural pillow covered in green moss. The rings were attached to the pillow with twine.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Bayless Center at Rip Van Winkle Gardens, which was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements of earth toned flowers in burgundy, rust and off white, greenery and pheasant feathers. Slices of wood were used as the base for centerpieces on tables as well as under the bride’s cake. Mason jars with candles and lanterns were used throughout the reception area.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Milton.

Jamie Boudreaux - Aaron Lee marry

Miss Jamie Boudreaux and Mr. Aaron Lee, of Abbeville, became man and wife during a wedding ceremony on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Ascension of Our Lord Church in Donaldsonville, La.
The bride is the daughter of David and Robbin Boudreaux of Donaldsonville, LA. Her grandparents are Lester and Jackie Chiquet and the late Frederick and Bernice Boudreaux, all of Donaldsonville.
The groom is the son of Al and Leisa Lee. His grandparents are Ronnie and Barbar Lee of Abbeville and Avert and Carolyn Guidry of Wright, LA.
The bride was escorted up the aisle by her father.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Palazzo Bernardo in Donaldsonville, LA.

Andrea Rhea Fontenot of Erath and Jeremy Allen Waters of Marshall, Missouri are pleased to announce their engagement and forthcoming wedding.
The couple will exchange vows at White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 7, 2018.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Kenn and Cheryl Fontenot of Erath. Her late grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Salathe of New Orleans and Mr. and Mrs. Russel Fontenot of Ville Platte. She is a graduate of Erath High School and LSU Baton Rouge.
The groom-elect is the son of Richard and Debra Waters of Marshall, Missouri. His grandparents are Helen Brandt and the late Henry Brandt of Marshall, Missouri, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Waters also of Marshall, Missouri. He is a graduate of School of Computers in Baton Rouge.
The couple is employed by ShoppersChoice.com in Baton Rouge.

Mrs. Jacob Voisin

Kaitlin Richard - Jacob Voisin marry in Lafayette

Miss Kaitlin Richard and Mrs. Jacob Voisin, both of Erath, were joined in marriage during a ceremony held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Le Barn Rouge in Lafayette.
The 5:30 p.m. wedding was officiated by Barbara Broussard.
The bride is the daughter of Heath Richard and Tammy Richard of Erath. Her grandparents are Michael and Elizabeth Richard of Erath and the late Calvin and Beverly Boudreaux of Erath.
The groom is the son of Mark and Tammy Voisin of Erath. His grandparents are the late Warren and Genevieve Hebert and the late Tommy and Delores Voisin.
The barn was decorated in a rustic theme which consisted of bales of hay, lanterns, candles, wine bottles with flowers and mason jars.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a beautiful floor length sleeveless ivory A-line wedding dress. The dress featured beautiful beaded lace appliques sparked softly across the bodice and full organza skirt of this soft and romantic A-line gown with a lace-up back and sweep train. The bride completed her attire with a pair of cowgirl boots.
For her headpiece, the bride wore a beautiful one tier fingertip length veil adorned with a pearl embellished alencon lace edge. She completed her veil with a bridal comb which featured a cluster of pearls and Swarovski rhinestone crystals.
She carried a unique bouquet of off white roses, coral calla lilies, baby’s breath and pearls wrapped with burlap and lace.
Hanna Richard, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Madison Landry and Mollie Landry, cousins of the bride.
They wore floor length navy blue bridesmaid dresses which featured a lace bodice, an illusion neckline, a ribbon defined waist with full mesh skirt with a slit. They completed their attire with cowgirl boots.
Each attendant carried a bouquet of coral calla lilies with baby’s breath which was wrapped in burlap and pearl ribbon.
Flower girls were Kyleigh Broussard and Kinley Lange. They each wore an ivory lace knee dress with a pearl and rhinestone hair piece. They completed their attire with cowgirl boots.
Best man was Jeremy Voisin, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Caden Broussard, cousin of the bride. Junior groomsman was Reid Voisin, nephew of the groom. Ring bearers were Cohen Broussard, cousin of the bride; Easton Voisin, godchild of the groom and Carter Broussard, cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Cori Broussard, cousin of the bride and Bryant Hebert, godfather of the groom.
The reception was held at LeBarn Rouge.
The barn was decorated with a rustic theme which consisted of bales of hay, lanterns, candles, wine bottles with flowers and mason jar.
The bride’s cake was an ivory four tiered trimmed in lace icing with burlap flowers.
The groom’s cake was an LSU purple velvet cake.
The couple will honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held on Friday, November 24, 2017, at Shucks in Abbeville.

Opta J. “Black” LeBlanc

ERATH — A Mass of Christian Burial for Opta J. “Black” LeBlanc,96, will be 3:00PM Tuesday November 28, 2017 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Andre Metrejean officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
Visitation will be in David Funeral Home of Erath Monday November 27, 2017 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM and will resume Tuesday from 8:00AM until service time.
Black, born in Charonge, and a resident of Erath passed away Thursday November 23, 2017 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette,
He was very proud to be a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 21st Infantry in the
Philippines and Japan.
He is survived by a son Blaine Le Blanc of Erath; a daughter Lisa L. Hebert and husband Carl of Erath; brothers Mayo Leblanc of Bridge City, TX and Joseph “Chester” LeBlanc of Abbeville; caregiver Cindy Gautreaux of Abbeville; grandchildren Casey, Ashley, Nicole, Heather, Jordan, and Brittany; great grandchildren 7; numerous nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Elsie Hulin LeBlanc; brothers Obeal Leblanc, Aliba LeBlanc, Ovey LeBlanc, Odile LeBlanc, Otis “Butch” LeBlanc, L.J. LeBlanc, and a sister Olite LeBlanc Delcambre

Maxie is survived by his daughter, Tanya Schexnider and her husband Christopher Bouillion; brothers, Kenneth Schexnider, Patrick Schexnider, Anthony Schexnider, and Terry Schexnider; sisters, Fayette Foreman and Linda Schexnider; grandchildren, Bryce Bouillion and Justyn Bouillion and his wife Elzina; and a great grandchild, Katherine Bouillion.

Joseph Roy Frederick, Sr.

June 3, 1920 ~ November 27, 2017

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Roy Frederick, 97, who died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Joseph Roy Frederick, Jr., Ryan Frederick, Matt Faulk, Chris Doucet, Justin Manceaux and Kevin Manceaux.
Joseph was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Olita B. Frederick; daughters, Janette F. Trahan of Maurice and Maxine F. Dupuy and her husband Elwood of Lafayette; son, Joseph Roy Frederick, Jr. of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Tricia T. Manceaux and her husband Kevin of Maurice, Ryan J. Frederick and his wife Trina of Abbeville, Jill Doucet and her husband Chris of Abbeville, and Andrea D. Faulk and her husband Matt of Cypress, TX; and great grandchildren, Taylor Laviolette and her husband Jacques, Justin Manceaux, Claire Frederick, Emily Frederick, Ava Grace Faulk, Dane Cessac, Madison Cessac, Blair Doucet and Brenz Doucet.
Joseph was preceded in death by parents, Ulyssee Frederick and the former Daisy Meaux; son, John David Frederick; and brother, Clifford Frederick.

Della Faulk Bourque

September 26, 1916 ~ November 25, 2017

KAPLAN — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Della Faulk Bourque, 101, who died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Eastridge Nursing Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Kendal Faulk officiating the services and serving as coconcelebrant will be Reverend Mark Miley. Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Stansbury, Blyde Frederick, Wesley Walker, Dennis Faulk, Neil Faulk, and Jody Faulk.
Della was an avid reader and gardener. She loved working in her yard, dancing, and cooking for everyone. Ms. Bourque was a world class traveler with voyages taking her to Majorca, Spain, Chicago, New York City, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico City. She attributed her longevity to eating healthy homegrown foods and great genes.
She is survived by her three children, Raywood J. Faulk and his wife, Nolia T. Faulk of Kaplan, Kathleen Ladewig and her husband, Howard of Emory, TX, and Linda Faulk of Kaplan; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two on the way; and 4 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Romero and the former Rosa Breaux; 12 siblings; her first husband, Dennis “Bulldo” Faulk; and her second husband, Maurice Bourque.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
