Abbeville /VC meet for the first time in football

The date of Sept. 20, 2019 is now historical in Vermilion Parish’s high school football history.
On Friday the Abbeville High Wildcats play the Vermilion Catholic Eagles in football.
It will be the first time in parish history these two teams meet up on the football field for a varsity game. They have played one another in basketball, softball, baseball, tennis, and possibly soccer.
The Wildcats are a Class 3A football team who is 0-2 after Week 2.
The Eagles are a Class 1A football team who is 1-1 after Week 2.

Two to be inducted into Erath Hall of Fame

ERATH - The Erath Backers Club is proud to announce the selection of two individuals for induction into the Erath High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Julie Broussard Grisaffe and Ryan K. Hebert will be inducted into the Hall of Fame tonight.
The induction will take place at the Erath Community Building, located at 100 City Park Drive in Erath, beginning at 7 p.m. The banquet is open to the public and free to attend.

Rayne beats Abbeville

The Abbeville Wildcats could only score eight points in their 19-8 loss to the Rayne Wolves on Friday at home.
Rayne scored six points in the first period and seven in the second period and led 13-8 at halftime.
In the second period, Abbeville quarterback Jaidyn O’Brien connected with Garrick Scott for a 67yard touchdown at the 8:03 mark in the second quarter. Abbeville went for two points and was successful. Brennan Shelvin connected with O’Brien for a two-point play that made it 13-8.
The Wildcats outgained Rayne, 203 yards to 170 yards.
