Part of the fence that is currently around the pond will be moved to do some work at the new park in Abbeville.

Abbeville Council keeps moving forward with work at new park

The Abbeville City Council approved a plan in June to turn about 15 acres that used to be the site of the drive-in into a city park. The city purchased the land last year from the deGrauww family, which owned the drive-in. The land will be combined with adjacent property the city already owned to create a large recreational area.

Vermilion Parish School Board will decide to have 7 or 9 members

Some thought the school board president had the power to break a tie, but the president does not. Others thought the superintendent was the deciding tie breaker. Wrong again.
