Someone stole $533 worth of electricity from Cattle Festival in Abbeville

The Louisiana Cattle Festival Association received an electricity bill from the City of Abbeville it did not expect.
The bill totaled $533.
The month before, that same bill was under $2.
Francis Plaisance, who is the president the Cattle Festival, did a little investigation of how the bill came about.
Plasiance said the bill was from a electrical panel box located on a pole at the Red Barn on Rodeo Road in Abbeville. The electrical panels are used only during the trail rides when campers hook up to them.

Kaplan Police Chief turns himself in to La. State Police

Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams turned himself in Monday morning to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office after a warrant was issued for his arrest by the Louisiana State Police.
Adams was charged with malfeasance in office and felony theft.
These charges stem from a state audit which questioned whether Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams used nearly $7,650 in public funds to pay personal expenses, drawing some of that money from two police department bank accounts city officials say they did not know existed.
