Mary Cade Stockmeyer

Mary Cade Stockmeyer, age 92, peacefully passed away on October 17, 2024.
She was born in Abbeville, LA on November 18, 1931 and attended SLI (ULL) in Lafayette before moving to New Orleans in 1950, where she met and married her beloved husband, Carl Frederick Stockmeyer, Jr. of New Orleans.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband and parents, Hannah O’Quin Burks and John Elliott Cade, her daughter, Mary “Cade” Stockmeyer Beach, of Maplewood, NJ, and sisters, Carol Cecile Cade of Abbeville and Hannah Cade Cassidy of Jennings.

Bertha Marie Williams Turner

ABBEVILLE, La. – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Bertha Marie Williams Turner, 74, was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Theresa Catholic Church (101 N. Leonard Avenue) with Rev. Francois Sainte Marie, Celebrant officiating.
She was laid to rest in the Mausoleum of St. Paul Cemetery (515 Jacqulyn Street) in Abbeville, LA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at a 2:30 p.m. Liturgy of the Word Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Kevin Michael Gayle, Sr., age 74, who passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at his residence in Lafayette.

June McGinn

June McGinn, a lover of nature and good humor, died peacefully at her home in Lafayette on Oct. 30. She was 86. She was a remarkably strong person, a single mother who raised three children and a survivor of cancer.
June, born Rita Junell Hebert, had a powerful curiosity about the world. She was especially passionate about nature. She was an avid birder, gardener and conservationist. An enthusiastic traveler, her many voyages took her across the US, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and New Zealand.

Roslyn Songe Savoie

Roslyn Songe Savoie, 63, a native of Houma and resident of Erath, passed away on October 30, 2024.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9am to 12pm, with the service to begin at 12pm, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Jude Savoie and wife Abby; grandchildren, Celeste Jane "Concombre", Scarlet Grace "Scar Baby", and Neiva May "Nae Nae" Savoie; Godchildren, Lance Chatagnier, Jenny Loney, and Katelynn Rogers; and aunt, Dolores Rogers Kraemer.
