Rayne beats Erath

Winbush would score a total of five touchdowns to help the Wolves crush Erath 35-7 in a non district game. He had TD runs of 5, 16, 34 and 61 yards. He finished with 294 yards on 19 carries.
The Bobcats were able to hang with Rayne in the first period, down 7-0.

North Vermilion beats Varnado in a close game

LEROY - The North Vermilion Patriots gave their homecoming crowd a thrilling game to watch.
The Class 3A Patriots scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Class 1A Varnado Wildcats 35-18.
While the score looked like a blowout, it was not.
Varnado took an 18-13 lead around the 8 minute mark in the third period.
But the Patriots did not panic. They just took their next possession and marched 60 yards down field and retook the lead for good.

The Kaplan Pirates run out onto the field before the game.

Ground game works for Kaplan against Kinder

KAPLAN - The Kaplan Pirates did not do any thing fancy or use trickery to beat Kinder on Friday. They did what they normally do - run the football.
The Pirates have shown when they run for more than 260 yards a game in 2017, they win games.
Against Church Point last week, they rushed for 300 yards and cruised to a victory.
On Friday, the Pirates rushed for 263 yards and cruised to a 28-6 victory over Kinder.
Braylon Romero and Mac Thibeaux combined to 188 yards out of the 263 yards for Kaplan.
